Nothing hurts my hope for revolution in the Global North, especially in the US, like seeing how quick even so-called "communists" will jump to essentially denying imperialism exists. In their eyes, imperialism can only mean "when a country invades another country," it can never be used to refer to actual material social relations that manifest in global production and transportation. If you want to replace a system, you need to be willing to critically and honestly analyze it. If you fail to do that, if you ignore the aspects of it that make you feel personally uncomfortable, you will unable to actually implement actual solutions. The best you can possibly do is a half-measure like social democracy that preserves all the exact same exploitative relations but comes with a friendlier veneer. Read Lenin for god's sake
